Faculty note: Weinschenk publishes research on the genetics of politics

Associate Prof. Aaron Weinschenk (Political Science and Psychology) recently had a peer-reviewed journal article titled “Genes, Personality Traits, and the Sense of Civic Duty” published in American Politics Research. The article, co-authored with Prof. Chris Dawes of New York University, uses data on identical and fraternal twins to examine the amount of genetic overlap between personality traits and the sense of civic duty. The paper is just one piece in a series of studies that Weinschenk and Dawes are conducting on this topic.
