Faculty note: Gates displays work in Skokie exhibit

Associate Professor and Chair of the UW-Green Bay Art Program, Alison Gates, has secured work in the Nixie Gallery, Skokie, Ill. Her creation, “Alison Gates: The Aunt Martha Mash-Ups” is a solo exhibition of 22 hand-embroidered images, and is on display now up until the end of June. The mash-ups include several unexpected pairings of characters from Colonial Pattern Co.’s vintage embroidery designs, which are meant to symbolize the anxieties of contemporary society.
