‘Insight’ article features EMBI, Arendt, alumnus
UW-Green Bay’s Environmental Management and Business Institute (EMBI) got some ink recently in an Insight business publication article on next-generation sustainability in Northeastern Wisconsin. The story featured EMBI associate director John Arendt and 2011 grad Steve Teclaw, the latter of whom interned at Tosca, Ltd. (which produces returnable containers for the food and beverage industry) through EMBI — and then landed a full-time job with the company. “Our students have done waste reduction studies, energy analysis, life-cycle analysis studies, and helped businesses install environmental management systems, which is a requirement for joining the Wisconsin Green Tier,” Arendt said. “Businesses get innovative, cost-saving solutions from students who ‘push the envelope’ by asking questions that may never have been asked. And potentially they’ll get a hire out of it.” Full story.
