Neville’s ‘Artist as Teacher’ exhibit, UW-Green Bay faculty, featured in P-G

We gave you a sneak peek yesterday of some of the terrific faculty works currently on display as part of the Neville Public Museum’s “The Artist as Teacher Part I” exhibit, on display now through May 5. Today (Thursday, Jan. 31), the Green Bay Press-Gazette has a story on the exhibit, which features works from 13 UW-Green Bay faculty members and six from St. Norbert College. Reporter Maria Amante spoke to Prof. Alison Gates (who has two pieces on display) about the variety of works being featured. “This is an excellent representation of good art, it’s not just paintings, it’s not just sculptures,” Gates said. “It’s important for our students to see that the art world is a much bigger place than they might think.” Full story.
