Chancellor Harden shows appreciation to Phuture Phoenix supporters
UW-Green Bay Chancellor Thomas Harden showed his appreciation to Phuture Phoenix supporters at a luncheon Monday, Nov. 15 at the Oneida Golf and Country Club.
Among the guests, Phuture Phoenix co-founder Ginny Riopelle and her husband Jack (above), and many other friends of the University.
It was a record-setting year for the Phuture Phoenix program, with more than 1,400 fifth-graders from 16 schools visiting the UW-Green Bay campus to get a taste of college life. This year, 91 faculty and staff participated in the program, by far the most ever.
It was also the first time former Phuture Phoenix students are now students at UW-Green Bay, and involved in serving as mentors and tour guides. Many of the former Phuture Phoenix participants are scholarship recipients, thanks to generous supporters.
