Veterans Reception highlights week’s events
Already broadcast campuswide but repeated here for the record: UW-Green Bay hosts its annual Chancellor’s Veterans Reception at 4 p.m. Friday (Nov. 9) in the Phoenix Room of the University Union. It is a chance to honor campus and community veterans and active-duty personnel, all of whom are invited to attend. The reception will include remarks by UW-Green Bay Chancellor Tom Harden as well as veteran Jeremy Wildenberg, who is a graduate student, instructor and Institute for Learning Partnership staff member. UW-Green Bay has 355 individuals receiving veteran benefits, including 252 veterans and service members, as well as dependents. That number is expected to increase to more than 400 by early next year. More details.
Updated list: What military people like in their ‘care packages’
Also distributed campuswide but repeated here for the record: Elaina Koltz has sent us an updated list of the sorts of donated items that campus volunteers would like to include in care packages to be sent to active-duty military personnel. UW-Green Bay’s Vets 4 Vets Club will be collecting items for veteran care packages, and will host a raffle to benefit the purchase of veteran books. Donations can be made up until Dec. 10. Read more.
