Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band to perform with Cal State standout

UW-Green Bay’s Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band will take the Weidner Center stage Saturday (Oct. 18), welcoming a special guest artist for the fourth concert event of the 2014-15 season. Conducted by Associate Prof. Kevin Collins, the groups will be joined by Jeffrey Benedict, Professor Emeritus of Music at Cal State Los Angeles. Benedict, who still teaches at Cal State, has played professionally since 1972 and is highly regarded as both a jazz and classical saxophone performer and teacher. He has two jazz albums, numerous new works, a host of performance credits and many awards to his credit. Tickets for the concert are just $7 for adults and $5 for students and seniors.
