Kotz’s theatrical piece celebrates French, Indian, Great Lakes history

A performance of “Dancing in the Fire: The Monarch, The Missionary and The Métis,” will be staged at 7:30 p.m. this Saturday (April 25) in Fort Howard Hall at the Weidner Center. The multi-media, original dance, music and prose-based theatre production is the creation of Marc Kotz, a UW-Green Bay adjunct instructor of music and dance. Admission is $20 for this historically interpretive, one-person show, which depicts three key characters of French lineage and influence in North America: King Louis XIV, Father Jacques Marquette, and the local French and Indian leader Charles De Langlade. The show celebrates the pervasive French legacy in our region, and its mix with American Indian culture. The production is supported in part by the Bradshaw Knight Foundation of Madison. Read more.
