Some people run, some people walk, some people shave their heads
Assistant Prof. Vince Lowery (Humanistic Studies/History) is going bald at St. Brendan’s Inn in downtown Green Bay. On Saturday, March 12, Lowery will participate in the St. Baldrick’s Foundation fundraiser for childhood cancer research, in which participants shave their heads as an expression of solidarity with children bravely fighting a disease the foundation seeks to help them beat through donations raised by the event. Since 2005, the St. Baldrick’s Foundation has raised more than $50 million to support research to find cures for childhood cancers. As the parent of a healthy child, he wants to give to those whose children need help. Lowery will shave his head, giving up very little in order to raise money to support their fight.
