Spanish program, NAS announce residency by Chilean educator
The Spanish program, in collaboration with Natural and Applied Sciences, has announced that Alex Godoy-Faúndez will be a 2012 Scholar in Residence at UW-Green Bay. Godoy-Faúndez is a professor at the Universidad Andrés Bello in Chile, where he is a research fellow with the institution’s Center for Sustainability Research, Ecology and Natural Resources. While at UW-Green Bay, he will team teach two fall 2012 courses: ENV SCI 318/518 Pollution Control, with John Katers of NAS; and SPAN 465 Special Topics: Environmental Issues in the Americas, with Hernan Fernandez-Meardi of Humanistic Studies. Godoy-Faúndez had a three-week stay in Green Bay last April in a visit supported by the International Visiting Scholars program. Among his claims to fame is contributing content to a book on Chile’s future edited by that nation’s former president, Ricardo Lagos. For a photo and more details, click here.
