Green Bay Athletics announces new Hall of Fame inductees
Green Bay Athletics is set to induct seven former Phoenix greats to the Athletics Hall of Fame on January 18, 2020. This will be the 21st induction class in the Hall of Fame’s history. The announced 2020 class includes women’s soccer player Lisa Boeser ’96, softball player Katie Stauber (Cooney) ’10, men’s swimmer Zach Hansen ’04, former athletics administrator Marilyn McCarey, men’s Nordic skier Santiago Ocariz ’10, men’s soccer player Joshua Okoampa ’06 and women’s basketball standout Julie Wojta ’12. These seven inductees will be recognized for their athletics achievements, contributions and accomplishments during their successful time at Green Bay.
This year’s class of inductees brings membership in the Athletics Hall of Fame to 83 honorees. A complete list of the current Hall of Fame members can be found here. The most recent induction class came in 2018, with JC Banks, Nicole Soulis, Dr. Kim Trader and Ray Willis being inducted.
The class will be forever enshrined on Saturday, January 18, 2020 with the ceremony taking place from 5-8 p.m. in the Phoenix Rooms on the campus of UW-Green Bay. The group will also be recognized at the Friday and Saturday men’s and women’s basketball games. Tickets for the ceremony can be purchased for $25 for Phoenix Fund members and season ticket holders and $35 for the general public. Tickets will include a heavy hors d’oeuvres reception, cash bar and induction ceremony program.
