Alumnus to read from new memoir Wednesday in Bellevue

The Green Bay Press-Gazette reports that UW-Green Bay alumnus Chad Faries will read from his new memoir, Drive Me Out of My Mind: 24 Houses in 10 years, at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday (Dec. 7) at The Reader’s Loft, 2069 Central Court, Bellevue. His book is “a coming-of-age story of wildness and wandering set primarily in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan,” according to his website, http://chadfaries.com. “ … It’s the memoir of a boy raised by lawless and itinerant women and how he was cultured — and corrupted — by their hard-living, hard-drinking, and hard-loving ways.” The author of two collections of poetry and recent recipient of a Fulbright Fellowship, Faries teaches at Savannah State University in Savannah, Ga.
