UW-Green Bay television production students got a behind-the-scenes look at the making of a high-profile TV commercial when Green Bay Packers WR Jordy Nelson and screen actor and Bellin pitch man Patrick Fabian spent parts of two days on campus recently.

Nelson and Fabian were the featured talent in promos aimed at men’s health education titled “Real Men Don’t Wait.” The Oregon-based video production company Wahoo Films chose the studios and services of Educational Television Productions of Northeast Wisconsin (ETP- NEW), located in the Instructional Services Building at UW-Green Bay, for the shoot.

The crew from Wahoo Films took time to answer questions from students about the various crew positions and the scope of the work.

“I would like to thank Bellin Health and Wahoo Films for the opportunity to be a part of this project,” said Leisgang. “We hope they will call on us again.”

Nelson is among the NFL’s receiving leaders in touchdowns and total yards, and has appeared in a number of local and national commercials. Fabian has a long list of film and TV credits (“Big Love,” “Veronica Mars,” “Joan of Arcadia,” “Twitches,” and “Saved by the Bell: The College Years”), but likely is most familiar to Wisconsin viewers for his voiceovers and personal appearances in the long-running series of Bellin Health ads.
