John Arendt named EMBI associate director

John Arendt has been appointed the new Associate Director for the Environmental Management and Business Institute (EMBI) at UW-Green Bay. Arendt is a May 2012 graduate of the Environmental Science and Policy master’s program here, and he also holds a bachelor’s in Business Administration (1988) from this University. While completing his graduate degree, he supervised several graduate and undergraduate students on a well-received energy and waste-stream analysis conducted by EMBI for Aurora BayCare Medical Center. He also completed a project with Briess Malting and Ingredients, Chilton, on the development of an environmental management system for Green Tier certification with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources. Prior to returning to UW-Green Bay for his graduate degree, Arendt had more than 20 years of business management experience in the Green Bay area. Arendt will work with faculty director John Katers to advance EMBI’s mission of collaborating with private- and public-sector partners to address environmental concerns in a sustainable fashion.
