Faculty & Staff Campaign
Chancellor Tom Harden has officially launched the 15th Annual UW-Green Bay Faculty & Staff Campaign. The Faculty & Staff Campaign provides University employees the opportunity to philanthropically support the institution through gifts to scholarships, academic programs, professional development funds and more. Co-chairs of this year’s drive are Prof. Tim Meyer, Communications; Mike Herrity, Registrar’s Office; and Liz Hessler, NEW Partnership. For more on the Campaign, and to see the Chancellor’s video introduction, visit the website at www.uwgb.edu/giving/faculty-staff.
In an effort to dramatically increase the overall participation rate, the campus is trying something a bit different this year. Three co-chairs have been selected to help lead the Campaign (see previous item). In addition, the campus has been split into teams, with each team being led by a captain or co-captains. The hope is to inject a bit of friendly competition into the drive while ensuring that everyone is personally encouraged to consider a contribution. See the list of teams and captains.
As mentioned by Chancellor Harden in his video presentation, the goal of the Campaign is to increase the overall campus participation rate. Over the past few years, roughly 30 percent of UW-Green Bay faculty and staff members have contributed to the Campaign. By dramatically increasing that percentage, not only will it provide additional funding for student scholarships and academic programs, it allows the University to leverage that engagement when seeking philanthropic support from alumni, community members, foundations and local businesses.
