NAS series resumes with Bauer talk on hormones in the water

UW-Green Bay’s Natural and Applied Sciences academic unit opens a new year in its popular seminar series with “Are There Hormones in Your Drinking Water?” Human Biology Prof. Angela Bauer will address the topic in her presentation at 3:30 p.m. Friday (Sept. 7) in ES 328, following a 3 p.m. social gathering in ES 317. Bauer will discuss research involving the presence of endocrine-disrupting chemicals in area aquifers, whether the levels detected could present health problems, and why the geology of some area counties — thin soils over porous limestone — makes groundwater contamination an immediate concern.
