Wanted: faculty and staff volunteers for Phuture Phoenix

Phuture Phoenix is looking to recruit faculty and staff participation for mid-morning to early afternoon service during the annual Phuture Phoenix Days, Oct. 9 and 11. Over those two days more than 1,400 fifth-graders from at-risk schools visit our campus. For many of these youngsters it will be their first experience with college life. Stephanie Cataldo-Pabich, one of the organizers, says she’s especially interested in hearing from faculty not teaching at those hours on those days who might be interested in sharing “mini-lectures” with groups of children at the University Union.

“With your help we can show them the wide range of learning opportunities that can be found on our campus. With your help we’ll show them why college is cool.”
