Liz Titus Putnam, the founder of the national Student Conservation Association, will speak at 7 p.m. Tuesday (March 29) in Phoenix Room B of the University Union. Putnam, who was awarded a 2010 Presidential Citizens Medal, founded the country’s first and now-largest youth volunteer and environmental conservation organization. It gives college and high school students hands-on service opportunities in fields such as invasive species eradication, wildfire management, environmental education, and trail restoration and maintenance.
