The Grading Dilemma: Balancing Time with Providing Student Feedback

That’s the title of a stand-alone CATL workshop scheduled for Friday, April 3, from 2:30 to 4 p.m. in University Union Room 103. Presenters will be Profs. Rebecca Meacham, David Voelker and Heidi Fencl. “Essay tests, writing assignments, laboratory reports: They all sound like such a good idea when they are assigned. But when it comes to grading, most of us occasionally wonder why we could consider any approach that is so time intensive. This round table session will focus on strategies for providing good feedback to students without taking too much time for the grading process. Come with your own best practices as well as your biggest questions.” Hosted by the campus Center for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning. All welcome.
