Signs of spring? Find out Saturday during Baird Creek hike

Looking for signs of spring? Join Kevin Hendricksen at 1 p.m. this Saturday, March 16 as he leads a hike to find signs of spring throughout Baird Creek. Look for buds on trees and bushes or spring plants beginning to peek through the snow. Listen and watch for the many animals that make the Parkway their home and for migratory birds returning to the area. Remember to bring your camera! Our friends at the Baird Creek Preservation Association also remind you to be sure to dress for the weather, and be prepared to encounter a few hills and non-paved trails. As always, this child-friendly hike is free and open to the public, and leaves from Christa McAuliffe Park (3100 Sitka Street) at 1 pm. For parties of 6 or more, please call ahead. For information about the hikes or about the Baird Creek Preservation Foundation contact Maureen Meinhardt 920.328.3505 or execdirector@bairdcreek.org.
