The Spanish 465 “special topics” course led by Prof. Gabriel Saxton-Ruiz — it has to do with representations of violence in Latin America and is provocatively subtitled “Freaks, Fetishes and Families” — will have a special Q & A session via skype with acclaimed Peruvian author Jennifer Thorndike. The title of the presentation is “Channeling Mommie Dearest in Peru: A dialogue with Jennifer Thorndike” and will be held in Studio Arts 350 at 3:45 p.m. this Wednesday (March 6). Prof. Saxton-Ruiz adds: “The talk will be mostly in Spanglish, but all are welcome to attend and participate.”
