Cruz to lead ‘Becoming a Latino in the U.S.’ discussion at Neville, Feb. 22
UW-Green Bay Prof. Marcelo Cruz (Public and Environmental Administration) will presenting “Becoming a Latino in the United States, at a dinner program Thursday, Feb. 22 at 5 p.m. at the Neville Public Museum. Cruz addresses how Latinos learn to be a “minority group” here in the United States. How do people of Latin American heritage navigate the layers of identity in the United States as they adapt, modify and resist U.S. identity politics. This program is intended to complement the Neville’s exhibit Estamos Aqui. Enjoy dinner followed by an interesting and informative program. Dinner begins at 5 p.m. in the Neville classrooms followed by a program at 6 p.m. in the theater. Attend early to check out the Estamos Aquí exhibit ahead of time. Free for non-member guests starting at 4 p.m.
