Congratulations! Class speaker Stephanie Freis wins national Phi Kappa Phi honor

Summa cum laude graduate Stephanie Freis — you may remember the Psychology grad for her role as student speaker at Saturday’s UW-Green Bay spring commencement — has just earned another big honor. Word arrived today that Freis has won a $5,000 graduate fellowship through the national Phi Kappa Phi graduate fellowship competition. Phi Kappa Phi is the nation’s oldest honor society, open to students of all fields. Each of the honor society’s 300 or so campus chapters were able to submit a nominee. Since the establishment of the UW-Green Bay Chapter of Phi Kappa Phi in 1997, the nominees from UWGB have earned fellowship awards four times: Chela Moore, 1999; Neil Sandhu, 2004; Jenny Olson, 2007; and Stephanie Freis, 2012. We’ll have a news release with complete details shortly.
