Veterans Day observances to include full week of activities


UW-Green Bay will show appreciation for veterans on campus and in the community with a week of events starting with Monday, Nov. 11, Veterans Day. Organizers say that since many members of the UW-Green Bay community know someone who is or has been in the military they are encouraged to wear their military branch insignia during this week in support of our military and veterans — Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, and Coast Guard. The schedule is as follows:
· Monday, Nov. 11 — Chancellor’s Veterans Reception, 4-6 p.m., Union’s Phoenix Room
· Tuesday, Nov. 12 — Community Veteran Volunteer Organizations Round Robin, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m., Phoenix C
· Wednesday, Nov. 13 — Veteran 5k Run, Cofrin Arboretum Trail, 8 a.m.-1 p.m.
· Thursday, Nov. 14 — LTC Rasmussen Visit, Christie Theatre, 3 p.m.
· Friday, Nov. 15 — Veteran Open House and Picnic, noon-2 p.m., Mauthe Center
