Slideshow: Big day for Phuture Phoenix
UW-Green Bay’s Phuture Phoenix program has received a grant to replicate itself and spread the success of its innovative pre-college approach. The grant was celebrated at a campus event March 24.
Interim Chancellor David Ward was joined by Wisconsin First Lady Jessica Doyle and Amy Kerwin, Great Lakes Higher Education Guaranty Corporation , in announcing the news. Students, community and school district officials, UW System Regent Judith Crain and Phuture Phoenix co-founders Ginny Riopelle and Cyndie Shepard also attended.
Shepard, wife of former UW-Green Bay Chancellor Bruce Shepard, is also looking to replicate the Phuture Phoenix program in the state of Washington, where Bruce is now president of Western Washington University.
