UW-Green Bay Concert Choir and Chorale perform Feb. 26
The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay Concert Choir and Chorale conducted by Prof. Randall Meder will perform at 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 26 in the Cofrin Family Hall of the Weidner Center for the Performing Arts.
The Concert Choir, with accompanist Mary Slavek, will perform pieces by Melchior Franck, Orazio Vecchi, Roland de Lassus, Antonio Vivaldi, Gabriel Faure and Jay Althouse. Among the selections are Vivaldi’s “Credo,” and Faure’s “Maria Mater Gratiae.”
The UW-Green Bay Chorale, will perform works by Luca Marenzio, William Byrd, Tomas Luis de Victoria and James Mulholland. The Mullholland work is based upon poems by Robert Burns and will feature Prof. David Severtson at the piano, and Nathan Hermus on oboe.
The evening program will conclude with the Chorale performing a pair of African-American Spirituals that feature student soloists. William Dawson’s “There is a Balm in Gilead” will feature soloist Shelbi Cox, and soloist Michael Lund-Ziegler will be the soloist for “Ain’t Got Time to Die,” by Hall Johnson.
