The empty conference room, located on the north side, plaza level, of the Cofrin Library, was disturbed at around 2:40 p.m. by an adult female turkey flying into and breaking through the large floor-to-ceiling window.
Thomas Erdman, Curator of the Richter Museum of Natural History, Cofrin Center for Biodiversity, responded to gently lift the wounded turkey into a large cardboard box, which was then taken to the Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary by Aubrey Schramm, Student Services Coordinator for the Adult Degree Program.
Facilities management and maintenance arrived on the scene to clean the broken glass and feathers and to see to damages.
