Distinguished grads: Snapshots from Alumni Awards Night 2011
UW-Green Bay’s award-winning alumni, past and present, gathered April 30 at the Weidner Center to celebrate the University and its graduates.
Posing after the annual Alumni Awards Night dinner and program were a dozen or so distinguished alumni, with past recipients welcoming three new honorees into the fold. From left in the photo above, with names of 2011 award winners in bold, are: Ron Opicka ’70, John Stoll ’73, Laura (Busby) Hollingsworth ’89, Joel Hansen ’01 (current Alumni Association president and past recipient of the Outstanding Recent-Alumni Award), Jody Weyers ’96 (recipient of this year’s young-alumni honor, Keith Pamperin ’70, John Heugel ’71, Robert Cera ’84, Patricia Finder-Stone ’73, Timothy Nixon ’87, and Paula Fleurant ’75 and ’85. A late change in plans prevented Daoud Abboud ’87 from attending; his accomplishments were recognized during the program with UW-Green Bay international projects staff member Jay Harris accepting in his absence, and the 2011 Distinguished Alumni award will be shipped to him in Amman, Jordan. Also recognized during the program were the 2010 Outstanding Master’s Thesis, and members of the Alumni Association board completing their terms of service. Click thumbnails to enter slideshow view.
