Slideshow: The Installation of Chancellor Gary Miller

When UW System President Ray Cross (in green) welcomed Chancellor Gary L. Miller to the lectern at his official Installation ceremony Friday (Nov. 14) at the Weidner Center, it marked the formal beginning of a new era. An audience of about 600, including friends and family, UW System officials, delegates from institutions across the country, University employees and community supporters took part in the celebration. Friday’s ceremony was enlivened by colorful regalia, music, “calls to service” from University stakeholders,  and greetings from local and state leaders. A tradition special to UW-Green Bay involved the chancellor’s signing of a ceremonial proclamation — signed over the years by the University’s previous five chancellors — which is scrolled and stored in the handle of the University Mace.
