Go Green! Student 'step out' for good cause

The Southeast Asian Student Union team in the Steps to Make a Difference Walk.UW-Green Bay students once again showed their school spirit — their charitable, civic-minded school spirit — at the sixth annual Steps to Make a Difference Walk on campus Saturday, Oct. 25. With near-perfect weather, more than 250 students, faculty, staff and community members participated individually and as teams in the four-mile fundraising walk on the Arboretum trail. Participants were invited to stop at Lambeau Cottage for a refreshment break and to have team photos taken. (Among the teams participating, shown in these photos, were students from the Southeast Asian Student Union, the Students in Free Enterprise group, and the campus Ambassadors.)

Organized by UW-Green Bay students, the Steps to Make a Difference Walk raised just shy of $8,000 for five local non-profits: Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary, CASA of Brown County, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation-Northeast WI Chapter, Literacy Green Bay, and N.E.W. Curative Rehabilitation, Inc. Organizers thank all who participated, volunteered or sponsored, especially the student team that managed the event: Allen Voelker, Bridget Koeshall, Holly Melander, Brittany Zicky, Derek Weyer and Alex Janisch.
