Possibilities for UW-Green Bay’s new Library Commons are endless

The second (or plaza) level of the UW-Green Bay David A. Cofrin Library has seen many changes over the past year. The most significant is the large meeting area now located at the top of the stairwell, called the Library Commons. The Learning Center (formerly Tutoring and Learning Center) is also on the plaza level.

With its modern, open-space design and plentiful amenities, the area has many different uses for students, faculty and staff alike.

According to Assistant Vice Chancellor of Information Technology and the Cofrin Library, Paula Ganyard, the Library Commons can be used as a place to study, meet classmates, work on group projects, meet with professors, hang out and more.

“The space is open to anyone who would like to use it,” she said. “The possibilities for the space are endless.”

The newly opened area has already drawn attention, with Public Safety eyeing it as a potential location for “Coffee with a Cop” and the CL 204 conference room a place that can be reserved and scheduled by anyone on campus for meetings.
