New UW-Green Bay Chancellor Gary L. Miller made one of his first public appearances Aug. 4 at the annual men’s basketball golf outing at Thornberry Creek. Miller (second from left, here) rubbed elbows and traded golf stories with hoops fans and longtime program supporters including former UW-Green Bay associate chancellor Donald Harden (at left), who helped lead the University’s transition to NCAA Division I in the 1980s. The event also included a dinner and brief program hosted by local broadcaster John Maino and featuring remarks by Miller, Coach Brian Wardle and Athletics Director Mary Ellen Gillespie. The fundraiser yielded nearly $75,000 for Green Bay Athletics.
