Networking is one of the most important skills a college student will learn as they progress to a young professional. UW-Green Bay students were given a chance to take their networking knowledge to the next level during “Connections: Campus-Community-Future,” an event April 14 at the Weidner Center.
The goal of the event was to provide multicultural students with professional multicultural role models from the Green Bay area who work in various professional fields, organizations and industries. Nearly 50 students took advantage of the evening to practice professional networking with some of the 25 potential role models who supported the event.
“The event was a huge success,” said Shanica Tucker, program assistant for the Dean of Students and organizer of the event. “The feedback from community members and students was positive. One student contacted me later that night, and said the event was a source of inspiration and hope for their future.”
