Swimmers and divers make a splash… again!
The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay women’s swimming and diving team is taking aim on a fifth straight conference title at the Horizon League Championship in Milwaukee February 25 through 28.
Earlier this month, the team gained momentum with a 150-93 win over the UW-Milwaukee Panthers at home Feb. 7. There have been plenty of wins this season. Only the Wisconsin Badgers of the Big Ten were able to blemish a near-perfect season for the Phoenix women, who are 12-1 overall heading into the Horizon meet.

Against UW-Milwaukee, the Phoenix earned first-place finishes in nine of the meet’s 13 events. Winning a pair of individual races were senior Danielle DeGrand (Green Bay, Wis.) and junior Lauren McGraw (Woodbury, Minn.).
The Phoenix men’s team used wins in its last two events to down UW-Milwaukee and improve to 7-4 this year. Alex Hill, a junior from Lakesville, Minn., earned the Horizon League’s male Co-Swimmer of the Meet title in the Championships last year. The squad will seek to improve its fifth-place finish from a year ago.
