Get Your Green On! Wear your colors to support the Phoenix
The Pep Band might be wearing white (with green trim), but everyone else should go all-green for one of UW-Green Bay’s biggest stretches of basketball ever.
The Phoenix men (18-6, 10-2) fed off the energy of 7,000 mostly green-clad fans to beat the 11th ranked, league-leading Butler Bulldogs Monday night at the Resch Center. Another showdown comes Saturday night (Feb. 7) when the Phoenix hosts third-place UW-Milwaukee.
On the women’s side, UW-Green Bay (17-3 overall, 9-0 conference) holds a two-game lead over second place Butler following wins over the Bulldogs and Valparaiso last week. The women will match-up against Youngstown State Thursday and Cleveland State on Saturday at the Kress Events Center on campus.
Phoenix Men’s Coach Tod Kowalczyk is encouraging the UW-Green Bay student body to help make “Green Bay the toughest place to play on the road” by coming out to the upcoming Green Out games. The games feature free T-shirts to the first 200 UW-Green Bay students to pass through the Resch Center doors. The Green Out games are set for:
- • Saturday, Feb. 7 vs. UW-Milwaukee
• Wednesday, Feb. 18 vs. Valparaiso
