Gerds: Youth ensemble put on supersized concert at Weidner Center
“The event kept getting bigger and bigger and BIGGER. A music organization that began a half century ago threw an elaborate party of sorts and invited like-minded guest groups to, essentially, shout ‘Look what we can do!’ It happened Sunday afternoon in Cofrin Family Hall of the Weidner Center for the Performing Arts. Hosting was the Youth Orchestra Program at St. Norbert College. The event: “Youth Orchestra’s 50th Anniversary Musical Celebration Concert.” The guest groups: The top choirs of the Green Bay Girl Choir and Green Bay Boy Choir and dancers of Northeastern Wisconsin Dance Organization.” Critic at large Warren Gerds has the story.
