Green Bay men’s basketball gets big win on road
Knocking down a program-record 15 3-pointers and closing the game on a 14-3 run, the Green Bay men picked up their first road win of the season on Thursday night, defeating Oakland 96-90 at the Athletics Center O’rena. The Phoenix (11-19, 6-11 HL), led by Sandy Cohen III’s career-high 36 points and 11 rebounds, trailed 87-82 with just under 3 minutes left in the game, but scored 12 of the next 13 points to grab control and stun the Golden Grizzlies (17-13, 9-8 HL) on their home floor. Green Bay will look for its second-straight win and the all-important momentum heading into next weekend’s Horizon League Tournament – Motor City Madness, when it visits Detroit Mercy on Saturday afternoon. The Phoenix and Titans will conclude the regular season at 1 p.m. CT inside Calihan Hall.
