Staple of Lifelong Learning Institute, Eisenreich, honored by Allouez Village Band
In last week’s Green Bay Press-Gazette was a story about recently deceased Mary Eisenreich, active with UW-Green Bay’s Lifelong Learning Institute. Here’s an excerpt, “Brent Hussin knew Mary Eisenreich long before they crossed musical paths in the Allouez Village Band 10 years ago. It was virtually impossible not to know her — and equally impossible to keep up with her. Eisenreich was a force on the Green Bay music and theater scene for decades. She taught music at Parkview Middle School for 30 years and directed the Ashwaubenon High School musical for 21 years… Heavily involved with the Lifelong Learning Institute at UW-Green Bay, she taught a course last fall on writing your obituary. In her own, she included a funny story of working with students to re-create the scene from ‘Titanic’ where Rose is on the bow of the ship with her arms extended… In the weeks since her passing, Hussin said so many who knew her have commented that she wouldn’t want people to be sad. She made sure of it with her obituary.”
