SBDC collaboration aids $30 million growth in development in Sheboygan county
In 2014, as a part of a strategic alignment with the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at UW-Green Bay, the Sheboygan County Economic Development Corporation (SCEDC) launched entrepreneurial business development services to help get new businesses started, as well as existing businesses expanded. To date, the SBDC has been a part of dozens of new developments in Sheboygan County, along with several entrepreneurial expansions. At the recent SCEDC annual meeting, Chuck Brys, SBDC business counselor, reported to the 400+ in attendance that the SCEDC/SBDC entrepreneurial activity in Sheboygan County has resulted in nearly $30 million in development. Some businesses which have achieved success thanks to these services are Urbane, Elkhart Lake veterinary clinic, Red Wing Shoes and The Sign Shop.
