Heaser, Depas named Development Directors at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay
Green Bay, Wis. — Tracy Heaser and Jacob Depas begin their appointments as development directors at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, beginning immediately. UW‑Green Bay’s Vice Chancellor for University Advancement Lance Cavanaugh made the announcement recently.
Both Heaser and Depas are UW‑Green Bay alumni. The pair will meet with alumni, business leaders and other to further engage them with UW‑Green Bay and ask for their financial support of university programs and initiatives.
“Philanthropic support is very important to UW‑Green Bay and our students, faculty and programs,” said J. Lance Cavanaugh, vice chancellor for university advancement and president of the UW‑Green Bay Foundation. “I’m very happy to have Tracy Heaser and Jacob Depas on our team as new development directors.”
Heaser and Depas will raise funds in support of university-wide priorities including student scholarships, academic programs and facility improvements. Heaser will work with the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences. Depas will work with the College of Science and Technology.
Heaser, a 2005 UW‑Green Bay graduate (Communications), has more than a decade of fundraising experience, most recently as a development officer for the UW‑Green Bay, a position she has held since January 2011. During that time, her role was to strategize and execute annual campaign funds, manage budgets, lead planning sessions and write content for various Advancement communications. She served successfully as co-chair of UWGB’s 50th Anniversary Celebration. Her leadership with the annual alumni phone-a-thon, senior gift campaign and other initiatives have helped the University secure annual funds that have seen double digit percentage increases since she started in 2011.
Prior to her career here at UWGB, Heaser worked as a communications specialist for On Broadway, and as a marketing communications coordinator at Prevea Health. She is working toward a Master of Arts in Liberal Studies at St. Norbert College. She has been a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals since 2014.
Jacob Depas, a 2007 graduate of UW‑Green Bay (Business Administration-Finance), served as a major gift officer at Carthage College since 2013. He worked with the school’s alumni to stay connected with the campus and worked on building the alumni base for future development opportunities. He also assisted and trained other gift officers with planned giving and other investment/financial questions. Prior to his time with Carthage, Depas spent five years with Associated Bank, first as a financial product specialist, and later advancing into the role of associate financial consultant. At Associated Bank, he worked with financial needs analyses, developing financial goals with new and existing customers, serving as a relationship manager for strategic partners, planning, developing and coordinating sales activities. He also served as a volunteer project coordinator United Way.
