Much work remains…
In her enrollment update, Jen Jones identified three different areas of focus for spring and summer recruitment efforts:
• Freshmen ‘yield’ — Most freshmen apply and get accepted at multiple schools. Spring of the high school senior year is when many of them choose where they’ll actually enroll. When an admitted candidate shows up for class at UW-Green Bay on Sept. 2, 2015, we have “yielded” them, so to speak, from the pool of admitted students. “Our job now is to stay No. 1 on their list or try to get to No. 1 on their list of options for higher education,” Jones said;
• Spring is the busy season for assisting and encouraging transfer students to apply and register;
• The University is beginning the process of recruiting high school juniors (2016 graduates) and informing them why UW-Green Bay would be an excellent choice. All juniors in Wisconsin will be taking the ACT on March 3, Jones notes, and “We want to start out as No. 1 on their list of potential colleges.”
