Alumni poised to lend support to UW-Green Bay

TV-26 News reporter Alex Hagen filed a story Friday about UW-Green Bay alumni joining their counterparts across the UW System in taking interest in potentially record budget cuts to their alma maters. Hagen talked to Alumni Association President Steve Maricque and Alumni Relations Director Kari Moody. Maricque wonders what a $300 million statewide cut would do to vital academic programs. He also said he believes UWGB alumni are willing and able to reach out to elected officials and key decision makers, if called upon. “I haven’t had to try to mobilize our alumni,” Moody added. “They’re reaching out to me.” She said she has received numerous calls and emails from graduates asking how they can help. At the time they were interviewed Friday (Feb. 6), Moody and Maricque said they were looking forward to more details emerging as to the size and scope of the possible reductions at UW-Green Bay, and specific avenues for involvement.
