Alum, commencement speaker Carroll gets big grant to study vision loss

A UW-Green Bay alumnus who delivered the University’s May 2014 commencement address is a co-principal investigator of a four-year, $2 million grant from the National Eye Institute. Dr. Joseph J. Carroll ’97 is the Richard O. Schultz, MD/Ruth Works Professor in Ophthalmology at the Medical College of Wisconsin and the director of MCW’s advanced ocular imaging program. He’ll work with colleague Edgar A. DeYoe, MCW professor of radiology, to study the specific parts of the visual system responsible for vision loss in albinism. Read more.
