Editor Gurung, UWGB profs contribute to Jossey-Bass volume on teaching
Doing the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning, Measuring Systematic Changes to Teaching and Improvements in Learning: New Directions for Teaching and Learning is the title of a new volume (No. 136) in the Jossey-Bass higher education series. It offers a comprehensive range of ideas and techniques for improving college teaching based on the experience of seasoned instructors and the latest findings of educational and psychological researchers. UW-Green Bay Prof. Regan A.R. Gurung, Human Development, is co-editor of the 128-page text along with fellow teacher/researcher Janie H. Wilson of Georgia Southern University. The two editors collaborated on the first chapter, “Advancing Scholarly Research on Teaching and Learning.”
Also contributing chapters were Gurung’s Human Development colleagues, Associate Profs. Georjeanna Wilson-Doenges (“Statistical Models for Analyzing Learning Data”) and Ryan C. Martin (“The Ethics of SoTL: Navigating Institutional Review Boards”); and former UW-Green Bay faculty member and CATL director Aeron Haynie (“Faculty Development Centers and the Role of SoTL”).
