Press-Gazette continues AD search coverage with story on McIver
The Green Bay Press-Gazette is continuing its coverage of the search for UW-Green Bay’s next Director of Intercollegiate Athletics, and had a story in Thursday’s (Oct. 3) paper about interim AD Dan McIver. As reporter Scott Venci notes, McIver is a UW-Green Bay alumnus with 17 years of administrative experience at the University. He discussed fundraising and other topics during his public interview session Wednesday, emphasizing his passion for UW-Green Bay and its athletics program. “I think a key in that is that you have to have a passion for what you are asking for,” he said. “I obviously have a passion for Green Bay Athletics and this institution. If I can sell my passion to people, then I think we will have a lot of success in getting them to be backers of the athletic department.” The final interview for AD takes place today, with Mary Ellen Gillespie, Associate Athletics Director for External Relations at Bowling Green State University giving her public presentation at 1:15 p.m. in the Special Events Room at the Kress Events Center.
