University Golf League wraps up season No. 40

The University Golf League concluded its 40th season Wednesday night with the league playoff and scramble event. Taking championship honors in the Shorewood division was the NAS team of Matt Dornbush and Kevin Fermanich. In the Phoenix division, a couple of old birds, Chuck Wiseman and Tom Barry, walked away with the championship hardware. (Evidently being retired has helped this duo hone their golf skills.) Scramble event honors went to the team of Steve Meyer, Patrick Forsythe, Dean Thomas and Rich Spangenberg, coming in at two under par. (The lesson for this year seems to be if you want to be a winner, teach in NAS — must be something about knowing the angles, or that velocity+distance=birdies — or be retired!)
