Coming soon: The new concert series ‘360° Thursdays’
It’s billed as “music from every angle.” UW-Green Bay Music is announcing an innovative concert series — 360° Thursdays — designed to help audience members connect with music in more meaningful ways. Performances will feature provocative discussions by a composer, director, performer or arranger, who will help participants consider a single aspect of the music through multiple perspectives. Diverse styles will be performed to broaden horizons and deepen understanding of the music. All events in the series are held on Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. in Fort Howard Hall, Weidner Center for the Performing Arts. Admission is free, donations are appreciated.
The spring 2013 lineup, suitable for calendar marking now, promises:
• Feb. 7, Bob Washut and the UW-Green Bay Jazz Ensemble
• Feb. 28, Pianist Nicholas Phillips of UW-Eau Claire
• March 14, UWGB Brass, Flute & Saxophone Ensembles with director talks
• March 28, Exploring Jazz Styles, Prof. Adam Gaines
