Ensembles play classic jazz this Friday
UW-Green Bay’s Jazz I and II ensembles will present a concert at 7:30 p.m. this Friday (Nov. 2) in the University Theatre. Up first, the Jazz II Ensemble, directed by Prof. Adam Gaines, will play selections from Duke Ellington and Hoagy Carmichael, among others. The Jazz I Ensemble, under the direction of Prof. John Salerno, will play a variety of pieces including “Lean Years” by Pat Martino and “Smoke Gets in Your Eyes,” arranged by Bob Washut. The group also will perform Charlie Parker’s “Donna Lee,” arranged by Salerno. Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for students and seniors. Full details.
