This Thursday’s performance of Moulin Rouge by Canada’s Royal Winnipeg Ballet will be dedicated to the memory of the Weidner Center’s first managing director, Linda Erwin, who passed away earlier this year. A lover of all art forms, but especially dance, Erwin was a dear friend and colleague who touched the lives of many during her 28-year career at UW-Green Bay. An informal gathering with light refreshments will be hosted at approximately 9:30 p.m. Thursday (Nov. 1), following the ballet, in the Weidner Center’s Signature Lounge located on the mezzanine level. Many of the photographs and autographs on display in the lounge represent artists booked by Erwin over the years. Those attending Thursday’s gathering can write notes for Linda’s family, which will be compiled into a memory book and sent to her mother and sister. Those unable to attend, but who still wish to send a note to Linda’s family, may do so by emailing their correspondence to Stephanie Maufort, Weidner Center program manager, at mauforts@uwgb.edu, or mailing their notes to the Weidner Center by Friday, Nov. 16.
