Update on Emmons residency with Kohler Arts/Industry

Art Prof. Carol Emmons of Arts and Visual Design has completed the first of two and one-half months in the Kohler Arts/Industry residency program. In this unique program, artists from around the world are allotted space directly in the Kohler Co. Pottery, and provided access to factory materials, equipment, and technical expertise. Emmons’ project entails fabricating hundreds of ceramic elements, some derived from packaging, factory cull, and production ware. The elements will be combined with found and upcycled materials to populate an ark for the 21st century, with inhabitants referencing the spectrum of organic to machine. More info (PDF).
